Welcome to Fuller Elementary

Fuller GT Magnet Elementary School is nestled near downtown Raleigh. Strong parental support, a talented and committed team of teachers, and positive school climate serve as the foundation of a thriving school community.  As a Gifted and Talented magnet school, our students enroll in an extensive array of elective courses throughout the year that aim to develop an understanding of and appreciation for the arts, and that extend and enrich the core curriculum.

A strong community partnership allows Fuller to benefit from many outside resources. Currently, Fuller is a partner with NC State University in both academic and leadership initiatives.  Our staff not only sets high expectations for all students by delivering differentiated instruction, but also embraces Positive Behavior Supports as a philosophy that teaches social responsibility and character development.

Fuller is a supportive, inclusive environment where strong communication among staff and administration provides a scaffolding to ensure success for all students and teachers. Come see why Fuller was nationally recognized as a “Magnet School of Distinction”.

Congratulations to the members of the Fuller Track Team! Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade runners and jumpers proudly represented our school by demonstrating endurance and determination as they showed off their gifts and talents at Meredith College. Their outstanding performances were guided by Mr. Maldonado's coaching and organization.

Join the Fuller RUN Club! 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are gearing up for the spring by running after school from 4:15-5 PM each Tuesday and Thursday starting on April 16. If you are interested, contact Ms. Waite, Ms. Pouch, or Mr. Shore. The permission form is available here and can be turned in to your student's homeroom teacher. Thanks for all the support as we build healthy bodies and minds.

Congratulations to the Theatre Production students who performed in last week's "SEUSSICAL The Musical." The production was a proud accomplishment for students who have worked so hard to prepare to show off their gifts and talents. Thank you to Msses. Stanford and Mattocks, and Mr. Dunn who led the elective, and all the staff and families who helped make the show a success..

Fuller Elementary School was recognized as a Magnet School of Distinction by the Magnet Schools of America! The Magnet Schools of America Merit Award Program recognizes magnet schools/programs that demonstrate a high commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, desegregation/diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs, and parent and community involvement.

The annual Fuller Food Drive has just concluded. This year Fuller was recognized as one of the leading public elementary schools in the region. Our students significantly contributed to the 93,209 lbs of food collected across central NC to assist in providing more than 355,975 meals in our community. Thank you for assisting our students as they learn about helping in their community, & responsibility in society, empowering them to make positive local change. The program is an annual partnership with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC.

Congratulations to our Fuller Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Mr. Shane Arce, and Teacher Assistant of the Year, Ms. Gail Lanphear. We are so proud of the great work that all of our teachers and staff members do each day to make Fuller a great learning environment. Best of luck in the county-wide competitions--Fuller is already home to the 2010 Wake County Teacher of the Year, and a finalist for 2012 Wake County Teacher of the Year!

Fourth graders at Fuller are participating in the national "Mix It Up at Lunch Day" initiated by the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Teaching Tolerance project. Our diversity is one of our greatest assets at Fuller, and students are learning about how to capitalize on our strengths and learn from one another each day! Thanks to Ms. Langberg for sharing this great initiative with our students.

Online credit card payments for school fees, field trips and other contributions can now be managed through an Online Payment System contracted through Wake County Public Schools. Please note that there is a convenience charge for using the online system.

Before-School Care continues to be an option for Fuller Elementary School families and is offered off-site through a partnership with Hunter Elementary School and staffed with Hunter ES faculty members. Forms regarding registration can be found here: Before School Program Packet. The staff liaision for this program is Ms. Kenyann Stanford.

Our Fuller Faculty are expanding their educational reach! Ms. Mauze and Mr. Arce, fifth grade teachers at Fuller, served as teachers for the Duke TIP (Talent Identification Program) for 4th-6th grade students. See Mr. Arce here working with students at Meredith and Queens Colleges on a "Crisis!".

Thank you to all of the scientists, parents and volunteers that made Fuller's 10th Annual Science Enrichment Day (SED) an incredible celebration of science this year. Check out the WCPSS video podcast here, and the audio podcast about the event here! With amazing hands-on science learning experiences throughout the day our students learned about everything from cockroaches to digital mapping, and from astronomy to algae. Each experience may be the foundation for our own students' inspiration. Thank you to all of the parents and community members who made this possible for our K-5 students.

The Fuller Walking Club has begun! Students in grades 2-5 and parents will log miles around our track here at the school as we prepare bodies and minds for learning each Wednesday and Friday morning, and during recess. When we begin, please join us at 8:45 AM to walk with your student making a commitment to smart and healthy habits. As the weather grows colder, please remember to dress students warmly for the morning walk.

There are lots of easy ways to Fundraise for Fuller every day. Please consider clipping Box Tops for Education and sending them to school. Or, simply link your Food Lion MVP card or your Harris Teeter VIC card to Fuller Elementary--they will make a donation each time you shop. The same can be done with a Target RED (credit) card. Thanks for your support every day!
