Greetings to all Fuller Band students and families,

My name is Mrs. Oatsvall and I am the Band Director at Fuller GT Magnet Elementary in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is my second year at Fuller and I am pleased to say that the band program is off to a great start again this year! I was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. After high school I lived in Greenville, South Carolina for four years as an undergraduate student at Furman University majoring in Music Education. I am currently working on my Masters in Music Education, focusing in instrumental music at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro as part of a three year part-time program that allows me to continue teaching while I work on my degree. Clarinet is my primary instrument on which I have studied with Dr. Eileen Young, Dr. Robert Chesebro, and Dr. Isabelle Freeman. Past conducting experience includes work with Dr. Les Hicken, Dr. Brett Nolker and Maestro Edvard Tchivzhel. I am a member of MENC (Music Educators National Convention) and Sigma Alpha Iota (Women’s Music Fraternity). When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and our dog Gracie! I look forward to working with all of you during the coming year!
