Fuller is one of only two elementary schools in the
county to offer a unique program for fourth and fifth grade academically
gifted students (AG). AG identified students are grouped for instruction
of core subjects.
The elective program offers a rich curriculum delivered
through a variety of inquiry based electives. All students have
the opportunity to choose electives based on interest and need.
Electives include: Academically Gifted, Technology, Math & Science,
Visual and Performing Arts (including band,
orchestra, and dance),
and Second Languages including multiple levels of French
and Spanish.
RAMP-UP
Fuller is a partner with NC State University in the Recognizing
Accelerated Math Potential in Under-Represented People
(RAMP-UP) initiative, which is a grant that will provide
resources and instructional support to 3-5 grade students
and teachers.
Specials
Students at
Fuller attend a specials class weekly and rotate through
the specialists. K-2 students get a taste of all specialty
areas by attending specials including art, dance,
drama, music, foreign language
and physical
education during first semester. Second semester, they
attend two electives in leiu of specials. Third through
fifth graders attend a specials class along with two
electives all year long. They rotate through the above-mentioned
specials along with media and computers.
